HelloChinese - Learn Chinese App Reviews

I love this app. It would be nice to have a flash card feature to memorize characters learned instead of having to write them. Many people only need to know how to identify the right characters after typing in the pinyin into WeChat or other apps to communicate with friends and family. I would gladly pay for more content and the flash card feature.

I was looking for a good app that would increase my level of Mandarin Chinese, and this fits me well. I have no idea how the company is making money, but I would be more than happy to support them through some sort of in app purchase. Thank you all so much for the program you have created!

Excellent tool for learning Chinese. We especially like the grammar information and videos to supplement the very good learning and practice methods. We have found this to be the most helpful tool weve found.

HelloChinese is a wonderful learning experience that aids the user in understanding Mandarin Chinese.

I like this app a lot. I started on ChineseSkill but Ive since switched to Hello Chinese because even though the two apps are very similar (Hello Chinese seems like a copy of ChineseSkill) I find HC to be more accurate and helpful with grammar. I really feel like Im learning a lot from it. That being said, I withheld a star from my rating because their claim that using this app will make you fluent in a few months is ridiculous. If anything its a nice supplement to my current college Mandarin lessons. I hope they continue to refine it (especially the speech recognition which needs a LOT of work). I especially like the review feature - thats great! I wish prompted for review more often, though. Keep it up guys!

This is a worthy app to spend some time in.

This is the first app that Ive come across that helps you focus on tones and sounds and breaks them all down. It has helped me be able to differentiate between very similar sounding sounds and the different tones. The videos are also a nice addition. It would be nice if all the videos were listed and not just the most recent.

Even Chinese girlfriend likes it and she speaks Chinese.

The lessons are easy to follow, kids love it. Boost their confidence in learning. Looking forward to more advanced lessons.

This app is great and helps starters on the right path for learning the language! I recommend it to any one who wants to get a good head start on learning the beautiful language that is Chinese! 我爱学习中国！

this app is probably the BEST one to choose when wanting to learn Chinese! Theres so many good things I could say about this app! I feel really motivated to learn Chinese on a daily basis because of this app! One of the best features of this app is being able to see how your pronunciation is and improve it :D thank you for making such an awesome app!!

I love this app!! Im secretly learning Mandarin to surprise my boyfriend (whos fluent) and I was SO bummed to find out that Duolingo didnt have it. However, I found HelloChinese and I couldnt be happier! I love that you can play yourself back to hear your pronunciation mistakes, which in a tonal language like Mandarin is super important. Learning characters is a little more difficult, but I like that you can try as many times as you want without penalty on the practices. Would definitely recommend! I dont know if itll make me fluent, but hopefully Ill be able to catch things when my boyfriend talks to his mother on the phone lol.

Definitely the best app to learn Mandarin. It would be perfect if it had more writing practice, but its amazing nonetheless.

I use it on the go but its great for building vocabulary and grammar alike. Love it!

Very useful for bite-sized, personalized learning - I for one am only interested in learning the characters, and can almost completely customize the app to only concentrate on this. Only thing I miss is the option to turn off the listening excercises.

This app is great and I would totally recommend it. It focuses on multiple parts of the language- pronunciation, speaking, listening, reading, writing, and character recognization.
